The latest data in from USGS and other earthquake reporting systems has the swarm moving westward. It has returned to the Valleys surrounding Kathmandu. There has been one 5.2 EQ to the west of Kathmandu, of the nine to thirteen new reports most all are being reported at the 10km depth that has been the continuance of these shakes.
The Nepal earthquake swarms continue. There are both a 7.3 and a 7.4 amid todays reports of continued activity. There have been as many as 20 reported above the 4.0 threshold. The USGS has 13 in the last 24 hours.
The depth of all 4+ EQ’s is registering at 10km. There is a trend that continues with the 5+, 6+, and 7+ events whereby they are being reported at a depth of 15km consistently. The main activity of the Nepal swarms has shifted east of Kathmandu, and the events continue to occur in the valleys. Todays large 7.4 EQ is imaged below in an occupied area. Her is a link to Global Earthquake activity which will lead to videos, and data regarding EQ’s around the globe.
These are some of the midday 12th May 2015 reports and the satellite imagery from the 7.4 epicenter in one of the valleys east of Kathmandu where there is much human activity.
New reports will be updated as/if they are incoming…
